Pakistan Airspace Closure - 28 February 2019

Due to the continued airspace and airport closures in Pakistan, all Etihad Airways flights to/from Pakistan due to depart Abu Dhabi 28 February 2019 have been cancelled.

The safety and security of our guests will always be our number one priority at Etihad Airways, and we continue to monitor the situation


All guests impacted have been re-booked. We are offering the following options:

Rebooking / Re-issue

One date change is permitted free of charge to all impacted guests.

Guests can be rebooked to another flight/date within 7 days of the service recommencing

Tickets must be rebooked on the lowest RBD in the same cabin.

Any reissue fees pertaining to this change shall be waived for this one instance only.

Any reissued tickets must be endorsed with “Invol change due PK airspace closure”

Guests can also be rerouted subject to seats being available in the same cabin, on the days of the cancellation. The same or lowest available RBD should be used for rebooking. Any onward costs beyond these airports not be covered by Etihad Airways.

Re-routing and endorsement onto any other airlines is not permitted.


Full refund is permitted only for guests impacted on the days of the cancelled flights.

Please ensure the PNR is updated with the remark " Invol change due PK airspace closure”

All tickets impacted during the said period must be involuntarily reissued with the endorsement box/PNR indicating the reason, for e.g. “Invol change due PK airspace closure” .

All other flights including India and East Asia routes continue to operate while avoiding Pakistan airspace.
