Over the past several days, we have been preparing our hotels in the potential path of Hurricane Irma – another record-breaking storm that is hitting communities throughout the Caribbean and Southern Florida. Hurricane warnings for Puerto Rico have now been discontinued. At this time, we have no reports of guests or Team Members affected by the storm. Our Puerto Rico properties remain free of significant damage and are now focused on returning to normal operations.

However, more than 250 Hilton locations – including hotels, resorts and corporate offices - in the Bahamas and Florida are in the storm’s path. They have been closed or evacuated on the advice of local authorities.

As we brace for a potentially unprecedented storm, the safety and security of our guests and Team Members remains our top priority. Our Safety & Security, Operations and local hotel teams are working closely with authorities to prepare, and are monitoring Hurricane Irma’s every move. Properties in the storm’s path have implemented their hurricane preparedness plan and emergency procedures, and we have waived cancellation fees for guests who are unable to travel to specific hotels.

We are closely monitoring the weather updates. Please be assured that Hilton Worldwide Sales and property teamsare available to assist as the immediate situations arise from these unfortunate events.

Our hotels in affected areas of the Caribbean and Florida are waiving cancellation penalties for stays (including Advance Purchase) with arrivals from September 5 through September 12 regardless of travel destination. We encourage agents or guests to contact 1-800-HILTONS for the most recent information on cancellation policies across the portfolio.

While we do not yet know the full impact Hurricane Irma will have and are hoping for the best, we are ready to help through ourHilton Responds Fund, which has already benefited from your generosity in the wake of Harvey. In fact, we have raised a record $400,000 through the Hilton Responds Fund and our Honors points donations.

We are extending the Hilton Honors Members andHilton Responds donation campaigns through October 31, 2017, and are now doubling the company’s dollar-for-dollar matching commitment so that we can respond to both storms.This comes on top of the $1 million commitment between us and the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation that we announced last week.
Our thoughts are with our guests, team members, their communities, and everyone that may be impacted by the storm and its aftermath.
